CHROMA TERMS OF USE
Last Updated: October 3, 2026
Welcome to Chroma. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chroma application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By downloading, accessing, or using Chroma, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
"Chroma," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the company that operates the Chroma Service. "You" and "your" refer to the person using the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to use the Service under the laws applicable to you. If you are under the age required to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use Chroma only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.
If you allow a child to use Chroma, you are responsible for supervising that use and for ensuring that the child complies with these Terms.
2. Your Chroma Account
Certain features may require you to create or maintain a Chroma account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity occurring through your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe present a risk to Chroma, other users, or third parties.
3. Using Chroma
Chroma provides digital coloring pages, coloring tools, brushes, textures, palettes, creative features, AI-powered generation and transformation features, community features, and other creative experiences.
Features and content may change over time. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
You agree to use Chroma only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
- use Chroma to violate any applicable law or regulation;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to Chroma systems or accounts;
- copy, scrape, extract, or systematically collect Chroma content;
- reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the Service except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- circumvent subscription, access, content, or other technical restrictions;
- use automated systems to access or collect Chroma content without our permission; or
- use Chroma in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service.
4. Chroma Content
The Service contains coloring pages, illustrations, designs, patterns, textures, brushes, palettes, graphics, animations, software, text, and other materials ("Chroma Content").
Chroma Content may be owned by Chroma, its licensors, or other third parties and may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms and any applicable subscription, Chroma grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use Chroma Content for your personal, non-commercial use.
Your purchase of a subscription or other Chroma feature does not transfer ownership of Chroma Content to you.
5. Personal Use; No Redistribution or Commercial Use
Unless Chroma expressly grants you a separate commercial license, Chroma Content and AI-generated coloring pages provided through the Service are intended for your personal, non-commercial use only.
You may:
- view Chroma Content;
- color Chroma pages;
- save your coloring work within Chroma;
- print Chroma pages for your personal use; and
- create and enjoy your own finished coloring artwork.
You may not, without Chroma's prior written permission:
- sell, license, sublicense, rent, or otherwise commercially exploit Chroma Content or AI-generated coloring pages;
- redistribute, republish, or make Chroma Content or AI-generated coloring pages available to the public;
- upload or post an original or substantially unmodified Chroma coloring page to another website, social media platform, marketplace, file-sharing service, online community, or other public or shared platform;
- distribute Chroma pages to others as downloadable, printable, or reusable content;
- create or sell coloring books, printable collections, activity books, educational products, digital products, or other products containing Chroma Content;
- publish Chroma Content through Amazon KDP, Etsy, Shopify, print-on-demand services, or similar platforms;
- use Chroma Content to create content libraries, websites, applications, services, subscriptions, memberships, or other products or services;
- use Chroma Content to create or contribute to a competing coloring-page library or service; or
- otherwise use Chroma Content beyond personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
These restrictions apply whether the redistribution or use is free or paid.
Sharing Your Finished Artwork
We encourage you to share artwork that you personally create by coloring a Chroma page.
You may share photographs or screenshots of your completed coloring artwork for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided that the sharing does not separately violate the rights of Chroma or any third party.
For clarity, sharing a photograph of your completed coloring is different from redistributing the underlying blank Chroma coloring page.
6. AI-Generated Content
Chroma may provide features that use artificial intelligence or machine-learning technologies to create, modify, transform, or assist with coloring pages and other content ("AI Content").
AI Content may be generated from text prompts, photographs, sketches, or other inputs.
Subject to these Terms, Chroma permits you to use AI Content generated through the Service for your personal, non-commercial creative activities.
You may save, color, and print AI Content for your personal use.
Unless Chroma expressly grants you a separate license, you may not sell, license, sublicense, redistribute, publish, or commercially exploit AI Content or incorporate AI Content into products or services offered for sale.
AI-generated content may not be unique. Similar or substantially similar content may be generated for other users or may already exist elsewhere.
Chroma does not guarantee that AI Content is eligible for copyright protection, is original, is unique, or does not resemble existing third-party content.
The legal status and ownership of AI-generated content may vary depending on applicable law and the extent of human creative contribution. Nothing in these Terms is intended to make a representation about whether a particular AI-generated work is protected by copyright.
7. User-Provided Content
Chroma may allow you to upload photographs, artwork, sketches, images, text, or other materials ("User Content").
You retain ownership of User Content that you own.
By uploading User Content, you represent and warrant that you own, control, or otherwise have all rights and permissions necessary for Chroma to process and use that content as contemplated by the Service and these Terms.
You may not upload or use content that:
- infringes or misappropriates another person's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
- violates another person's privacy or publicity rights;
- you do not have permission to use;
- contains unlawful or prohibited material; or
- violates these Terms.
8. Copyright and Third-Party Intellectual Property
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Chroma does not infringe the rights of others.
You may not use Chroma to reproduce, transform, modify, or create derivative content from copyrighted artwork, characters, photographs, logos, trademarks, or other protected content unless you have the necessary rights or permission.
This includes content generated using Chroma's AI features.
For example, you should not upload or generate a recognizable third-party character or copyrighted artwork and then publish it through Chroma unless you have the necessary authorization.
Chroma does not grant you rights to third-party intellectual property merely because Chroma allows you to upload, process, transform, or generate content relating to that intellectual property.
9. Chroma Gallery
Chroma may provide a community gallery or other features that allow users to publish and share their creations with other Chroma users ("Chroma Gallery").
The Chroma Gallery is intended for creative, non-commercial sharing within the Chroma community.
Before publishing content to the Chroma Gallery, you must confirm that you have the rights or permission necessary to share that content.
You may not publish content to the Chroma Gallery that infringes or misappropriates another person's or organization's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights.
This includes unauthorized third-party characters, artwork, illustrations, photographs, logos, and other protected content.
Gallery Rights Confirmation
When you publish content to the Chroma Gallery, Chroma may require you to affirm:
"I confirm that I have the rights or permission to share this content in Chroma."
You must provide this confirmation before publishing content to the Chroma Gallery.
If you do not provide the required confirmation, the content may not be published to the Chroma Gallery.
Chroma may retain a record of this confirmation, including the applicable submission, account, date and time, and version of the confirmation presented to you.
License to Chroma
By submitting User Content to the Chroma Gallery, you grant Chroma a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and otherwise use that User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, provide, and improve the Chroma Service and its community features.
This license does not transfer ownership of your User Content to Chroma.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license.
10. Content Moderation and Removal
Chroma may, but is not obligated to, review, monitor, moderate, restrict, or remove User Content.
We may remove or restrict content that we believe:
- violates these Terms;
- infringes or may infringe third-party rights;
- is unlawful;
- is inappropriate for the Chroma community;
- is abusive, harmful, misleading, or objectionable; or
- creates a risk to Chroma, our users, or third parties.
We may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate these Terms or repeatedly submit content that infringes third-party rights.
We are not responsible for User Content submitted by other users.
11. Copyright Complaints
If you believe that content available through Chroma infringes your copyright, you may contact us with information sufficient for us to investigate the complaint.
Where applicable, Chroma will respond to valid copyright notices in accordance with applicable copyright law.
We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content while a complaint is reviewed.
We may also terminate or restrict accounts of repeat infringers where required or appropriate.
12. User Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback about Chroma ("Feedback"), you grant Chroma the right to use and incorporate that Feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
Feedback does not include your User Content unless you expressly provide it as Feedback.
13. Subscriptions and Purchases
Some Chroma features and content may require a paid subscription or other purchase.
Prices, subscription periods, trial periods, and available plans are presented through the Service and may vary by location, platform, or promotional offer.
If you start a subscription or purchase, you authorize the applicable payment provider or app store to charge the applicable fees.
Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled in accordance with the applicable platform's cancellation procedures.
Any free trial or promotional offer may be subject to additional terms and eligibility requirements.
We reserve the right to change pricing or subscription offerings, subject to applicable law and any notice requirements.
14. Apple App Store
If you obtained Chroma through Apple's App Store, your use of Chroma is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.
Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Chroma.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no obligation to provide warranty services with respect to Chroma.
Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to Chroma, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you.
15. Privacy
Your use of Chroma is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information.
By using Chroma, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Services
Chroma may use third-party services, including cloud infrastructure, analytics providers, payment providers, content delivery services, and artificial intelligence services.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Chroma is not responsible for the independent practices of third-party services.
17. AI and Automated Features
AI features may occasionally produce inaccurate, unexpected, incomplete, inappropriate, or unsuitable results.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before saving, sharing, printing, or otherwise using it.
AI features should not be relied upon as a source of factual, professional, legal, medical, financial, or other specialized advice.
You acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain errors or unintended similarities to existing content.
18. Prohibited Content and Conduct
You may not use Chroma to create, upload, publish, distribute, or share content that:
- violates applicable law;
- infringes intellectual property rights;
- violates privacy or publicity rights;
- facilitates illegal activity;
- attempts to impersonate another person or organization;
- contains malicious code or attempts to compromise the Service;
- harasses, threatens, or abuses others;
- is intended to deceive or defraud others; or
- otherwise violates these Terms.
Chroma may impose additional restrictions on particular features.
19. Ownership of Chroma
Except for User Content and third-party materials, Chroma and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service and Chroma Content.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of Chroma's software, designs, illustrations, trademarks, branding, or other intellectual property.
"Chroma" and related names, logos, and marks are trademarks or property of their respective owners.
20. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
Chroma does not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from defects.
We do not guarantee that any particular coloring page, AI Content, feature, or result will remain available.
To the extent permitted by law, Chroma disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chroma and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chroma's total liability arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
(a) the amount you paid to Chroma for the Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
(b) USD $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chroma and its owners, employees, affiliates, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from:
- your violation of these Terms;
- your User Content;
- your use of Chroma;
- your violation of another person's rights; or
- your misuse of AI-generated or third-party content.
23. Termination
You may stop using Chroma at any time.
Chroma may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, engaged in unlawful conduct, infringed third-party rights, or otherwise created a risk to Chroma or its users.
Upon termination, your license to use Chroma Content ends.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content, indemnification, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-related provisions.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of Chroma after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
25. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Chroma's operating entity is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Any dispute-resolution provisions required by applicable law will apply notwithstanding this section.
26. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
27. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Chroma Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and Chroma regarding your use of the Service.

Important Clarification About Chroma Content
For clarity, Chroma's permission for personal use does not mean that you may redistribute Chroma's underlying coloring pages.
You may color and enjoy Chroma artwork personally. You may also share your own finished coloring artwork.
You may not take the blank or substantially unmodified Chroma page and redistribute it elsewhere, whether for free or for payment, unless Chroma has given you permission to do so.
